Rise and shine – Lumie Bodyclock Review

Have you noticed that it is becoming lighter in the mornings – a sure sign that Spring is around the corner.  I am not really a morning person – preferring to stay in my warm bed on cold dark mornings.  When the alarm goes I often find it a rude awakening.  My work days are the only days that I need to respond to an artificial alarm, my gorgeous Erin is my alarm the rest of the week!

We are known for being later to nursery than most as Erin seems to be taking after me and enjoys a lazy morning.  This is fine on those rest days but when I need to leave the house with Erin and Dyl by 7.30am for work I do need an alarm.

I was recently sent the lumie bodyclock typically it arrived at half term so I didn’t use it to wake me up!

The first day back to school I set it to wake me up with a sunrise and no sound at 6am. I woke naturally to a bright sunrise and instantly felt ok about getting up. I was fully awake and ready to get up.

Bodyclock Go 75 – extra get-up-and-go with optional wake-up sounds
Features:
  • 20-, 30- or 45-minute sunrise/sunset
  • Five optional wake-up sounds inc. alarm beep, dawn chorus, drumbeat, Big Ben, wind chimes
  • Dimmable bedside lighting
  • Snooze
  • Fully dimmable display
  • Sun ray effect
  • Power failure back-up
  • Maximum 42W SES halogen bulb
  • H15 x W19 x D12cm
  • 760g

Lumie clocks have also been known to help with acne and SAD.  Since using the lumie I have been waking feeling more refreshed and ready to start the day.  If your like me and and don’t enjoy being woken by beeping or radios this would be a fab alternative and it is likely to give you a more positive start to the day.

  1. These do sound great. I would be worried about using it without sound, in case I didn’t wake up. But nice to be woken gradually. Although with an 11 month old baby I haven’t needed an alarm for some time! 🙂 x

  2. I love the idea of this. It’s so horrid being woken suddenly by a shrieking alarm. This sounds far more civilised.

  3. Oh my gosh, this sounds amazing! I find waking up the hardest thing in the world, especially when rudely awoken by an alarm (or a child!!)

  4. I used to have one of these (different brand though!) and I woke up sooo much better than my alarm… but the bulbs are really hard to find and expensive so I haven’t been able to use it for ages! Definitely notice a difference since going back to the alarm clock 🙁

  5. I haven’t seen one of these before but it sounds like a great idea. There’s nothing worse than being woken up by an alarm or in our case 2 shouting 2 year olds! A peaceful and calm awakening sounds lovely! 🙂

  6. This would be brilliant for my son, he never gets up without me calling him. I like the idea of it helping SAD too – I bought a light box a couple of years ago and it def helps in the winter

  7. I have been seriously considering one of these – I hate getting up in the morning! Glad to hear it has helped.

  8. Oh I NEED one of these in my life! Me and Aaron are late risers and are always either 30 or 60 minutes late for nursery………. So glad to hear it is not just me. Even when I was working I was only working 3 days a week so we slept in the rest of the time. I love the sound of this clock.

  9. I love the idea of these clocks, unfortunately I don’t need an alarm clock at the moment as I have a baby that wakes up at 6am on the dot lol
