This year I have vowed to be more organised. I don’t have the excuse of marking books and teaching so Christmas should be be organised and less rushed. One thing I haven’t done for a few years is to send Christmas cards. If you have received one from us in the past couple of years you really have been among the selected few! I have bought a packet or two from Steps as part of their fundraising efforts but that is about it for the last few years. It wasn’t a conscious decision but something had to give in all the festivities from church, the children’s clubs and buying and wrapping. I just seemed to miss last posting deadlines.
I feel guilty about this though as I do like sending and receiving cards and therefore this year I will be organised. I think less cards have been sent now that we are in a digital era that means we share more on social media and therefore less letters are written. However I love receiving the cards in the post and especially if they involve a little catch up note over what has happened in the past year. Do you include a catch up in yours, I am never sure as to whether to include a family letter to catch up. I’m never sure if it is a little too twee but I generally write a mini essay in the card instead.
Where do you buy your cards from? I plan to do a mix of charity cards and some personalised ones. I like personalised as it is a great way for people to see how the children are growing up and it includes that personal touch. Each of these designs can be bought in packs of 25 to packs of thousands. I don’t think I’ll be sending thousands but I like how you can choose the paper you want and the colours and obviously you add your own image. Which is your favoutite?
Minted also sell s cards for other occasions and they also have really cute party stationary including bunting. This all caught my eye as I am busy planning Erin’s ‘Alice in Wonderland Party’ which marks her fifth birthday this weekend.
If I ever get to take a dream trip to do a lapland holiday review I would use my own picture to make a card!

I send a mix of charity and personalised ones. Love getting cards as well. Being on FB etc I seem to write more and more, but still send more if anyone says “anyone want to exchange”.
