First a back story to my memories of sodastreams growing up
True story, I often asked for a Mr. Frosty for Christmas but I never received one and the same reason always given – we had a sodastream! Back in the 1980’s, my parents did a monthly shop at Asda and one of the highlights was choosing a box of crisps and the Sodastream flavours for the month. I clearly remember standing in the aisle looking at a myriad of flavours that would magically turn our tap water into fizzy of all flavours. My brother and I would spend ages choosing a few bottles! I always wanted Ginger Beer as I thought it was an adults drink!!
At home, we would add a couple of squirts to the glass bottle which we had already filled with water. Next, we attached the bottle to the Sodastream and pressed the button a few times until the sound changed! Then we would pop in a straw ( not so environmentally friendly now ) and enjoy our fizzy treat.
Over the past couple of years, Sodastream has had a resurgence and I can see why. Many of us are actively trying to cut down our single-use plastic and therefore fizzy and buying less or no sparkling water is one way to achieve this. What is in the Sodastream Spirit Box?
The Sodastream Spirit comes available in black or white. Inside the box are the Sodastream, a gas canister, and a bottle. It really is that simple and setting up the Sodastream Spirit took just a few seconds.
The back of the machine opens up and the canister is screwed into the top of the machine with just a few turns.
How to use the Sodastream Spirit?
Using the Sodastream is really straightforward. Fill the bottle with tap water and place under the opening. Then simply press the button on top a couple of times which adds the fizz to the water. You can then drink straight from the bottle or pour the water into another container.
