Something Special is happening!

Erin is a huge Cbeebies fan as when she was in spica we were limited to what we could do and how to spend our days. Therefore the TV and DVD’s became her best friend.  During this time Erin didn’t talk much – a far cry from today when she talks non stop!  She saw a speech therapist at the time who said that Erin didn’t talk as she had limited experience to talk about, this was due to her mobility being severely restricted.  Simply Erin wasn’t experiencing things like her peers and therefore had no real reason to speak.  It was suggested that we watch Mr Tumble and Something Special as it used some basic signs which would help Erin.  It was clear she understood everything she was just slow to start chatting.

Erin quickly became a fan of Special Special and started signing,  something Erin still does as she is chatting occasionally.  During this time she became Justin Fletchers biggest fan.  We took our portable DVD player to hospital each time she had surgery and it was our saving grace.

Therefore when I was invited to be a Something Special host for their upcoming twitter party I was thrilled.  We will be playing party games and sharing competitions during the party.  You can see the full range of Something Special merchandise at Tesco.  We are really looking forward to the party and hope to see you all there!
