The Essential University Bag from Scaramanga + Win a Uni Survival Pack

As a mum of a university student, there are certain things that I have learned during Chloe’s first semester. The first being that I am still her first port of call whenever things go wrong or whenever she unsure on how to cook something that we eat at home. The calls I have received include ‘how do you make mashed potato?’ ‘how do you make cheese sauce?’ and what cycle should she wash her expensive jumpers on? Technology has made these conversations easier and through Facetime, I am often able to show her how to do things.

The second thing I have learnt is that I don’t like Thursday mornings. Wednesday is the big night out, and when you are part of a sports team these nights out includes dressing up in silly outfits and often participating in even crazier games. During the first term Chloe not only ate a raw onion, but she also lost part of her eyebrow. I usually find these things out on a Thursday morning and I am often waiting to hear what has happened with a sense of apprehension.

Through trial and error, we have also realised what products are a university students friend. Chloe relies heavily on her smoothie maker. Many young people are clean eating and really look after themselves and therefore they want to keep up with this when in halls. The smoothie maker has been well worth the small investment. Chloe didn’t take lots of pans and things with her, instead, she has bought things as she needed them. This has saved money and stopped her buying products that she was unlikely to use.

Plymouth is a campus university which has many advantages including everything being very close to each other. We like that no public transport is needed, and that Chloe doesn’t need a car. Instead, she gets everywhere by walking. This does mean though that she needs a decent strong bag that holds her laptop and the other stationery bits that she needs for lectures. She literally rolls out of bed in the morning and walks the three minutes over the road to her lectures.

It is useful to have a bag that is fit for purpose but also that looks good. The student bags are practically designed as there is a wide selection of leather satchels which can carry your laptop or MacBook Pro with ease.  There is also spare room to fit your A4 folders, files and much more. The chic side bag is versatile enough to be used as an overnight bag, travel bag, book bag and of course it’s the perfect work bag.

We were gifted a bag and opted for the Britt Tote bag. It is proving really useful in addition to looking the part. This is practical for both carrying university things but also general use like popping to the shops to get some food in for dinner. The size makes it practical for carrying your daily essentials as well as your laptop and documents in an organised way. There is a front pocket that’s handy to have a quick and convenient place for your small essentials. The zipped interior pocket will ensure little bits and bobs won’t end up in the bottom of your leather tote bag. Two sturdy handles make this an incredibly comfortable shoulder bag.

In addition to the bags, Scaramanga also stock other leather goods like notepads, purses and even pencil cases. I have collaborated with Scaramanga to offer readers both an exclusive discount code, just use the code student15 and also the chance of winning a student surival pack consisting of a leather notepad, purse and pencil case.
