The bell rung on Friday and I soon had four eager and happy faces at home. As we are a family of teachers and school children the holidays are brilliant for us. We enjoy day trips, catching up with friends, lie ins and lazy mornings and just some family down time. The biggest advantage of being teachers (and there are not many these days) are that we don’t have the issue of sorting childcare and we can use this time to relax. Term time is so busy for us that I always welcome the half term breaks.
We have been lucky enough to have a fab couple of days in London and we stayed at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington (full review coming soon). Last year I won Merlin passes for the family and therefore yesterday we made use of them for the first time visiting Madame Tussauds which was on the children’s wish list.
The weather has been fanatastic for February meaning that we were free to wander as we chose. Visiting some of the attractions can be expensive but we also had plenty of fun in the Royal Parks (again full review to follow).
We are now back home and still have a few days of half term left to go, it is often at this point that the children’s enthusiasm starts to wane and they are seeking more adventures to be found.
