Tips to Moving Abroad Easier

Moving abroad can be complex but it is in fact achievable. Naturally, you may need to look at visas and you may be questioned on the type of work you will be doing when you decide to move, but overall, as long as you meet the requirements, you can make the transition quite easily. Perhaps you are moving to be closer to your partner, in this case you may need a spouse visa. Or perhaps you are moving alone and want to continue work in another country; you may need a work permit. Here are some further tips to make life easier for you!

Pack well and in advance

Pack according to the weight and types of items to be packed – whether they are very heavy items, light items, fragile items or especially expensive items, each of them may need a separate box. Be careful not to mix different item types and weights, insert light items in one box, and put the heavier objects in another box.

Take the expensive items with you

If you have very expensive small items, and have a very sentimental value, take them with you to the flight and do not send them in a container or boxes that go out for sea or air delivery. Unfortunately, there may be malfunctions or accidents on the way despite the degree of professionalism and skill of the packing and shipping company. Or if the items are travelling abroad for example on a plane, they may get thrown around a little in the cargo area.

These accidents are not necessarily related to the shipping company itself and can be the fault of other external parties but it is still good to be safe. If you can take certain things with you, then do so.

Make a list of all the items stored in the various boxes

Make a neat and numbered list of all the boxes you send and the items in each of them, stick a sticker in a different color on each box, which symbolizes the type of items in it. For example, a red sticker for items for children’s rooms, a blue sticker for items intended for the kitchen and so on. This way you can get organized at the destination itself with the arrival of the crates faster and easier. If you are not travelling on a plane, then this is much easier to navigate.

Don’t rush

Begin the packing task several weeks before moving and request crates for this purpose in advance. This way you can conduct yourself in a more relaxed manner and without unnecessary stress. You need to still take care of yourself even during this time; now more than ever. If you plan in advance, you can get on top of everything and be sure that you are not rushing.

Be sure to also look at: medicines, medical documents, children’s vaccination books, school certificates and / or any other certificate you will need as soon as you arrive at the new destination. You will also need of course, your passport, insurance documents, flight tickets, etc. Be smart; be prepared.
