Today’s Mummy Fail!

Tuesday and Wednesday mornings are full on in the Bradley household. I need to be out the house at 7.40 with three children, washed, dressed and groomed for the day. This can only happen after a military operation that begins the night before. My little army know the rountines and generally play along.

However I had a BIG mummy fail today.

6.10 Alarm goes off and Lee gets up.
6.28 ish I drag myself from my bunker and start the morning rituals.
6.45 I start telling the older two to get up, Chloe is quite good but Dylan – well he has to be bribed.
6.55 Dressing Erin and downstairs. Lee leaves – I’m sure he doesn’t HAVE to leave this early but he insists he does!
7.00 Breakfast and the rations are divided up – Erin has her bottle.
7.15 Sees me heading back upstairs to put on the war paint – I will look fresh faced and ready to work!
7.20 Normally fathing with the girls hair, Chloe wanting hers straightened and put Erins mass into some sort of order.
7.30 Lunch bags put together. I wash up breakfast dishes whilst the second in command loads up the car for me.
7.40 Heading off.

This is where it went wrong this morning. I dropped the older two off at the child minders realising Dylan still had breakfast smudged like camouflage around his face – thank god for baby wipes! That though is normal and not the issue. Lee had rung me to say there were traffic lights on my normal route so I decided to avoid these, which I managed. Then I whacked up the radio to listen to the News and started my 12 mile journey. I joined all the other commuters on the by pass when I heard Erin.

Crikey.

 What?

OMG.

That’s the mummy fail. I had fogotton to drop her at the nursery which I had driven past three miles ago.

Cursing, loudly I wondered if I could carry on and hide her at work with me all day. A bit like Janice did in Waterloo Road recently. Being late is not an option when you are a teacher, especially when it is your duty day.

After doing a U turn and getting back to the nursery I practically threw her at the staff before trying to regain time.

Bad mummy fail, I so can’t wait for the Easter break.
