I am blessed with quite good skin (thanks mum) it seems to be in our genes as we look younger than we are. Looking young when your a teenager and in your early 20’s is problematic due to being asked for ID all the time and the assumption that I was much younger than I actually was. My mum also taught me to look after my skin which is why I was pleased to be asked to carry out a review of the new Liz Earle Superskin Serum.
However, now I am nearer 40 than any other number, I like my youthful-looking skin. However, I have noticed the fine lines appearing and I certainly suffer with an uneven skin tone.
My cheeks are more rosy and flushed than I would prefer. I always take care of my skin with good products and I really like oil-based products as my skin can feel dry at times. Therefore when offered the new Liz Earle superskin face serum to try for a week I jumped at the chance.
Liz Earle is a new brand to me as I am an Elizabeth Arden regular and also a Elemis fan. I have always heard really good things about Liz Earle’s hot cleanse and polish range and looked forward to seeing if the Liz Earle Superskin serum was going to become a favourite of mine.
First Impressions
Used as part of your morning skincare routine, as an extra step after cleansing and toning and before applying your moisturiser, this serum can really make a noticeable difference to your skin due to the key active ingredients within – in this case, powerful botanical extracts.
Most days I wear either foundation or a BB cream, mainly to even out my skin tone. The first time I used the Liz Earle serum I liked the fragrance. The cream comes in a pump dispenser and the serum is a cream colour which I was not expecting as the serums I have used in the past have all been clear. However, surprise over and the serum soaked into my skin easily. I did not need much as it does tend to glide over the skin.
The Liz Earle Superskin serum contains Persian silk tree which promises to even skin tone and I am pleased that this has happened for me. My skin over the past week has definitely improved. The redness that I have has been greatly reduced and my skin has taken on a dewy complexion. I have been wearing more BB cream and less foundation which feels lighter. I have also noticed the fragrance of the cream remains and my skin feels softer to touch.
The pomegranate firms the skin and although I haven’t noticed a huge difference my skin is quite firm anyway – thankfully. The rhubarb plumps and smooths and that I have noticed. The fine lines around my eyes and lips look plumper and feel more moisturised. I really like the product and look forward to continuing to use it and see the benefits. Whilst it is a more expensive product at £40 a little does go along way and I am confident that the bottle is going to last a few months.

I like to use a serum first thing after washing my face in the morning. This one looks like a real treat. I like the idea of evening out the skin tones.
While this is a great review and looks like an awesome product, HOW MUCH?! Now I know why I stopped bothering with make up. That’s insane.

This sounds gorgeous – I love Cleanse &Polish but haven’t tried anything else from the range (I love Elemis too). I’m a big fan of serums, they overload my skin less than moisturiser and seem to have more effect but this sounds fantastic.
This looks great. I have never used a serum but do have a redish face so maybe I should invest in something like this if it does well for reducing the redness. Thanks for this review it has come in handy to show me something new to try 🙂
Always so good to hear about new products. I am a big fan of Elizabeth Arden too but really enjoyed reading your review. I have super dry skin so I wonder would this be a good match for me. I will have to try it out to see! Thanks for the review always good to learn about new fab products 😀
