We are just a few days away from our mother and daughter post GCSE holiday. We are heading to a lovely hotel for a week of relaxation, leaving my lovely mother in law to pick up the pieces with the school run and keep the husband fed! The holiday is a well done break after months of work and studying. We are spending today packing and preparing by getting our nails done and sorting out our clothes! We have shopped and bought new cover ups as we plan to spend most of the day on the beach or by the pool.
I will be working a little whilst we are away and that is the beauty of freelancing, if I have my laptop I can still work as required. If there is wifi I can always work which is brilliant and just shows why Wifi is essential for many when travelling. Not many want to be totally offer the internet when away. For me I just check in and do anything really important as this isn’t my main holiday of the year. I will switch off totally when we all go away as a family. I have also been preparing myself by buying a few essential things for the break and I thought I’d share these purchases with you.
- I wanted a Floatable Waterproof Case for iPhone 6 to keep my phone safe and also to be able to take photos without worrying.
- We have a neck pillow from Gift.co.uk that is great for on the plane and also on sun loungers, where we plan to spend lots of time!
- Travel journal as I like to keep some notes ready for writing blog posts at a later date I will also be taking my new personalised embossed notepad from Pen Heaven
- My hat is essential considering as we are swapping 19 degrees for 30+ and so are sunglasses which I had to go and buy as I lost mine to the bottome of the lake in France when visiting Moliets on a recent press trip.
Sharing is caring!

Both me and the husband have been to Kos, but separately in our youth!! I went with friends and we mostly went swimming, tried as many cocktails as we could and ate loads of Greek food in their fantastic restaurants! I did do a day trip to Turkey which was great, got to try some different food and bought some beautiful bowls there! You will have a great time!
I hope that you have a wonderful time, I bet it will be lovely having a week just you and your eldest. What a lovely treat for her to mark the end of her GCSEs x
