Last week saw me heading to London to take part in a chocolate masterclass at The Savoy Hotel, I know I know I live a really harsh life due to blogging! The event was put on by Tena who wanted to give me the opportunity to learn a new skill and give me a couple of extra hours to unwind as this fits in with their belief that TENA Lady ‘lets you be you’. It was a timely fit too as I have recently shared in another blog post that I was taking out shares in Tena after joining a fitastic class. However what was interesting is that once I opened up about bladder weakness other friends did too. It is a conversation that women need to be able to discuss as it affects many of us. It might start out at a little ‘oops moment’ but over the passage of time it becomes more pressing. Yet it is something that is rarely talked about unless we have had a few wines first! Did you know up to half of women experience bladder weakness? Did you know that Tena have a range of liners, pads and pant products for women who experience light to heavy bladder weakness?
The lovely Dr Hilary was also with us to answer any questions we may have on bladder weakness. I learnt that Tena has different ranges with different names depending on what stage consumers are at. For many it starts with small occasions but can lead on to needing more support and more products. All the products are designed to complement an active life which is important as no one should feel limited due to such a common complaint.
Then it was on to the chocolate masterclass with one of the Savoy chef’s. He was fantastic, very knowledgeable and very patient with me! I knew some of the history of chocolate and especially the Cadbury story and how they implemented huge changes to work practices but it was good to learn about actual chocolate and try different types. We started by making a flower, we had to build it up using chocolate leaves and believe me it was tricky than it looks! I was using an ice spray cannister to freeze them together and mine did not look like a flower at the end. I was much better at making the mousse though as the pictures show! I was also good at taste testing the chocolate.
In the following vlog you can see just what a natural Mrs Mummy Penny and I are – listen carefully and you may just hear Dr Hilary suggesting we go and buy a bar of Galaxy instead!!!! The cheeky man!
I’d like to thank Tena for a lovely day out.
