Growing up gluten free and dairy free snacks were limited and pretty uninspiring but thankfully that has all changed in recent years and there are many products that are both healthy and tasty whilst being suitable for those who cannot or choose not to have gluten, dairy, nuts or sweeteners in their diet. Many of us have baked our way through lockdown as something to do and we are not the exception! My kids have made lots of baked goodies and I am proud that they have better life skills now than they did before lockdown started. I shared a huge list of things for teenagers to do in lockdown and baking has certainly been popular in our house!

Creative Nature Cake Mix
After hearing so much positive feedback about Brownie, Banana Bread, and Muffin Mixes, Creative Nature thought it was time to expand the range and develop something new! So they took the classic chocolate cake recipe, and made it 10 x better! This brand new mix is their most versatile recipe yet… just add 2 ingredients: your favourite milk (they recommend rice milk) and your favourite oil (again they recommend sunflower oil) it really is that simple!
The Creative Nature cake mix is perfect for afternoon tea or any other occasion. Erin is whipping her’s up for Father’s Day to give to Lee as we are still in semi lockdown and not going out much. The cake mix is gluten free and dairy free. It could not be easier to make!
Erin made the cake independently, she has got confident using the oven in recent, although I do have to remind her to turn it off when she has finished!
We then decided to decorate our cake with some chocolate butter icing and another pack of Gnawables! This gluten free and dairy free snack was delicious and you would never have known it had free from products as the ingredients. The cake was yummy and the teenagers also loved it.
