Did we complete the nature trail we had been set?

Easter weekend and the weather is still so cold with no sign of the heating being switched off yet!  I really need to feel the warmth of the sun as I am so over this cold weather and all it is doing to spring!  To think the clocks have changed to summertime and we should be enjoying the lighter nights is a sting in the tail with this cold weather. I have been out and about on our nature trail again this week, I was pleased with the start we had made and was hoping to tick off many more.  I was looking for some beautiful colours but couldn’t find the plants on my list! There was no pink blossom to be found on the trees where I was walking and that buttercup stayed elusive.  Although Erin had fun charging around looking for it.

I did find an abundance of daffodils which were on the nature trail. Their bright yellow stands out in contrast to the green and give me hope that the sun is just around the corner! The garden always looks so pretty with some hardy annuals and I don’t have any in my garden but plan to put that right and plant some snowdrops and daffs ready for next spring.  It never seems so bad when you look out the window and can see the signs of new life and new growth.

I especially liked this photo that Erin and I took. The colour is so bright and the petal so detailed. I am a real believer that nature is not an accident. You just look at something as beautiful as a simple flower and have to question how it has been made so perfectly. None of this is chance – it is design.  It is too intricate, to perfect.

So, although we didn’t manage to check everything off our list we still had fun getting out and about. Yes we needed to wrap up warm but in small doses it is good to feel the wind in your hair. Just as long as there is a nice hot chocolate with marshmallows waiting to warm you up!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post, with the twist of a nature trail!
