Back in August we got our first ever dog, our little pup who we have called Lilly. To say it has been lifechanging is no exaggeration. We are all a little bit smitten with our new furry friend. Bringing Lilly into our family is like having a small child all over again. The living room floor is littered with toys and we are mindful of our routines around her.
Erin had been asking for a pup for sometime before we agreed that the time was right to introduce a puppy in to our family. It is certainly a big decision and a huge responsibility. Working from home means that we have the time for a pup now as she is a sociable thing and it would be unfair if we were out of the house for long hours at a time.
Over the years Erin has asked for a pet and she has imagined all the different pets she could have chosen. She was rather taken with snakes recently!
Therefore when Petplan asked Erin to get creative and design her dream pet she couldn’t wait to get started and get her pencils out. Erin loves to draw and with this one she really got colourful. She created a dream pet that was quite big and very cuddly. It looked fab on paper. She wanted something that would be cuddly, something that would be happy and also pretty. This is what she drew – I wish my own eyelashes were that long!
What Petplan insurance then did was magical, they turned Erin’s imagination into a proper soft toy. She was thrilled when this arrived through the post! We couldn’t believe just how it matched Erin’s drawing. It shows that sometimes dreams really do come to life. To have a teddy that you have designed on paper becoming a real squishy, huggy friend put a huge smile on her face.
How amazing and accurate is this. The details were all there, from the cut out sleeves to the hearts on knees. Erin adores her new teddy. Plus this one can go to bed with her as we don’t let Lilly sleep in Erin’s room! Having a pet is a huge responsibility and places demands on both your time and finances. There is so much to consider from what to feed your pup, where they will sleep, should you crate or not and of course pet insurance to keep unexpected vet bills at bay.
We looked for a lifetime cover for Lilly as we want to know that we will be covered for life if something happened to her or she became poorly. Petplan pet insurance has a priority to keep the nation’s pets healthy and their owners happy. By offering the very best pet insurance policies and great customer service, they have helped millions of owners get their beloved pets back on their feet following illness and injury. They know that our pets quickly become part of the family and that they need careful looking after.
Getting our pup has been a wonderful experience, she gets us outside more and the children all love her. We now only want the best for her. It’s true that a dog really is a best friend! We would love to know what your dream pet is, maybe let us know in the comments.
