Hands up if you are now starting to flag? Four weeks into the school holidays and our family holiday to Crete already seems like a lifetime ago. We have been super busy this holiday, as is often the case when children are involved. Having three children of varying agess means I am often burning the candle at both ends so to speak. Throw the new puppy into the mix and we can see why I was starting to flag.
I have also been attempting to look after myself a little better. This has included seeing a personal trainer once a week. Luckily I have found someone who comes to my house to train me. This suits my lifestyle and takes the miminum amount of time out of my day. It is super convient and I am already felling more energised as a result. I also do a kettlebell class with my trainer once a week. I have never really used weights before. However I am loving the class and it is definately working on my core muscles. Since leaving teaching I am far less active and it shows! This is another reason for getting the puppy. As I am now committed to taking her out for walks twice a day.
Furthermore I have also been looking at what I eat and have just completed a 12 day detox which saw me cut out wheat and instead I made fresh juices for three days. This was a challenge but certainly made a diffference to how I felt. I realised I don’t get enough vitamins and have also started taking Berocca the UK’s No.1 energy vitamin. Berocca is packed full of 8 B vitamins including vitamins B1 and B2 which work with your body to release your natural energy, helping you to feel energised during the day. This is just what busy parents can benefit from, especially at this time of the year.
Berocca can help you feel more energised to embrace fun days out (and days in) with the kids during the summer break. Last week we packed in a day at Cattle Country with friends in addition to visiting a Trampoline park for Erin, and taking Dylan and his friend to play pool. It really is non stop. Berocca helps you feel like “You but on a really good day”.
Becoming more aware of how I was feeling has really helped me make small changes. I tend to find 3pm-5pm my weak spot. This is the time I get tired, find myself getting snappy. It is also the time that I over indulge with those sugar laden snacks. Now I am noticing that I am not having ssuch a dip at this time. I am alsso making sure I have plenty of fruit in the fridge for the children and I to snack on.
This has all given me a boost which means I can enjoy the next weeks before term time starts again. It is a good job too as we still have lots of plans including going to The Big Feastival next weekend. I am now looking forward to enjoying the final two weeks of the holidays before I have to hand my children back to their teachers.
How are you coping with the final few weeks of suumer, do you need a supplement like Berocca to help get you through? If so they are readily available in supermarkets etc for just under £5. That is the price of a coffee and cake but oh so much better for you.
