Homework, coursework, school letters and photos for projects it seems many of us need a home office just to manage our children’s school life. Then there is the life admin that most of us need from printing off copies of bank statements to pictures of our children to stick on the fridge. This is why I welcomed the opportunity to put an Eco Tank through its paces.
As someone who is self-employed I also need to print things off for work purposes including blog briefs and contracts that need signing and scanning back to clients. The list of how we use our printer is extensive. It sits in the study and is used by all five of us. However one of my bugbears is the amount of ink we get through, usually when I need to print something off. for me!
Therefore when I was invited to review the Epsom Eco Tank ET7750 I was keen to experience the many features it offers. I wanted something that suits all our needs and makes life easier. The Eco Tank is a big piece of kit but it delivers in what it can do.
Setting up the printer was effortless and straightforward and it was soon in place on our shared desk. Having two teenagers, a teacher husband and myself we have quite a few devices at our fingertips and we all use them differently. I tend to blog on my laptop but my phone and iPad are never far away and I use these for emails plus photos. Many printers these days offer wireless printing and it is certainly useful. Chloe can be revising for exams in her room and then print something that she needs to read easily. However, you don’t need an expensive printer for that and this Eco Tank is an expensive printer.
The other features that do set this apart from other cheaper printers though is the ink facility and also the quality of the printing.
We get through quite a bit of ink but only certain colours. I am therefore often caught short, need to order ink and then wait for its delivery. All this comes at a cost to both my purse and patience. The Eco Tank comes with a bottle of ink designed to last about three years (depending on usage obviously). This reduces the cost that I currently spend especially as I buy the branded ink.
The other big difference is the quality. The difference is very obvious and if you are preparing documents for meeting and so on it would be noticed. The Eco Tank has the quality of an office printer. It also prints A3 and is far superior in quality.
This is great for me as I occasionally print off media packs for clients and its good to have the quality for that. Lee also occasionally needs things printed to a high standard and the machine delivers on that for sure. However, all that comes at a price and this is not cheap at approx £600. This printer is fantastic if you are printing photos or running a small business from home. It will be well used by us and I can’t see us needing anything else.
