This week we are reviewing Cornwall, we are staying a lovely site called Trevella park – full review to follow. Whilst here we are getting out and about, yesterday was Flambards, today will be pond dipping and beach and tomorrow NewquayZoo. The weather is on our side and we are loving this beautiful part of the country. I am really enjoying be a travel blogger and wouldn’t say no to doing this more often!!
Yesterday we spent the day at Flambards Nr Helston in Cornwall. Chloe was really looking forward to the rides, where as Dylan wasn’t – he doesn’t do rides and and takes him along time to warm up to even the little rides. Erin was an unknown quantity yet I had looked on the website and saw that they had soft play areas and little rides for her age. I need not have worried she was mega impressed and got stuck in!
My first impressions were that the park seemed quite small and I wasn’t sure that it would entertain us for the day. However I was soon proved wrong, the park is well spread out and there is more than first meets the eye. There was plenty of disabled parking that was right near the entrance and we were soon out the car getting our tickets. We headed to the bigger rides first – now it is no theme park, you must not compare to Thorpe Park, Alton Towers etc it is not meant to be. There are few thrill rides that Chloe enjoyed including a water ride.

Her favourite was Skyraker which I couldn’t do! Dylan and Chloe both enjoyed the cyclocopter monorail.

There were plenty of options for lunch with some cafe spots for snacks, there were plenty of ice and sweet huts too. Being a family of five we take picnics on these types of days and there were spaces and tables around the park where you could eat. After lunch we hit soft play which is always a hit with littles.

Erin really enjoyed the rides aimed a preschoolers and it was funny watching Lee squeezing into the rides to be with her!

I asked Dylan what he thought of the day and he really enjoyed it. In addition to the rides there are two great exhibitions, firstly a victorian exhibition. It has several streets and illustates what houses and the shops were like. Secondly the blitz exhibition which is accomapined by sounds. Both bought a bit of history to life which was good.
There was also a hands on science zoe which appealed to Dylan. Look at this fab picture of him after being be headed!

Chloe’s quote of the day ‘I’d go back there because of the rides’
Flambards entertained us all for the day and kept three children of different ages enthralled for the day, it would have cost about £60 day for our family which is relative to other days out, however we did notice that there was not a family discount – you know a family of four costs less than buying the tickets singularly. We liked that you can go back for free withing five days and we probably would have taken advantage of that if we had paid. I spotted that you can also get tickets by using Tesco Clubcard points so again this is another way of saving money of the entrance price.
I do recommend Flambards if you are looking for a varied day out when you are in Cornwall.
Disclosure: We had free entry to the park for the purpose of the review althoughthe thoughts are all my own.
