It was a crazy busy birthday weekend for my gorgeous girl and she enjoyed every second of it. I had spent quite a bit of time planning her party as I wanted all the details to be just right for her first proper party. It was quite emotional for us to see Erin playing with her friends after all she has been through in the past few years. Erin herself had decided on the pirate theme based around her favourite TV programme Swashbuckle. Chloe had even made her gems that were hidden in the soft play for the children to find. Erin is great as she does not succumb to gender expectations. At a recent party the girls were having their faces painted as butterflys and princesses. When it got to Erin’s turn she asked to be a monster as she was going to chase the girls! I hope she keeps that spirit in her and doesn’t lose it when she starts school next year.
The 4th birthday was not the early start you probably expect from an excited birthday girl. Erin was woken up at 8.50 as everyone else was up and ready to sing to her. Once up though she was quickly in the birthday mode and delighted with her lovely dolls house that we had bought her. The party was late afternoon and we enjoyed a lazy sunday morning with her, opening presents and playing games! Erin dressed up as a princess pirate and looked the part too with her hat and eye patch. She was really pleased with her themed party, which aren’t all that hard to plan with apps like this facebook party planner tool from fancy dress ball – which is ideal for other themed party ideas too.
The party was a great success with happy children and big smiles all around, some of the children had dressed as super heroes and some as princesses. Fancy dress parties seem to be popular with all ages from children to adults alike. I had taken a few short corners and had party bags made for me. I also made lunch boxes for everyone in pirate party boxes. This was great as we had no wasted food. I simply made a sandwich, popped in a bag of crisps, a babybel cheese, a box of raisins and a cake. Everything was eaten with no waste and I will definitely do this again.
I did spend up on her cake though which was amazing. I also got pirate balloons and number four balloons to add to the wow factor.
It really was a party for Erin to remember and I have found a new vocation as a party planner!
