If it’s good enough for John Terry it’s good enough for me!

Christmas mornings and feeling the stocking on the end of my bed is one of my favourite childhood memories.  We would sit on mum and dads bed and open our stockings whilst they had a cup of tea.  I always enjoyed the treats in my stocking from the chocolates, silly games, pair of socks, dvd and toiletries.  We have the same tradition now we have our own three children, although there is five of us to squash in the bed instead of four (this was in the days before my little brother, who is 20 years younger than me!).  This year I set myself a challenge as poundland had sent me a voucher to see what I could get for £20 for Christmas.

I decided to see if I could get all of Erin’s stocking fillers from poundland – and I did.  John Terry has been in the headlines this week for being pictured buying in a pound shop – why this quite makes the national news is a mystery to me.  Anyone can shop where they please in my books.  Everyone likes a bargain and why pay more than you need to.  I must admit that I haven’t ever really looked that closely in Poundland at the toys  or gift bits.  We do stock up on toiletries in there and that is where deodorant, batteries and toothpaste comes from but not much else.  However looking closer I found some really great buys.  Erin loves puzzles and I found a great 3D Fairy Puzzle, branded Peppa Pig hair slides, branded bubble bath and plenty of sweets.  I even got sweets for the older two’s stocking aswell.

In addition to the stocking bits I found some brilliant festive stickers.  They are such good value I bought a couple of sheets.  I also bought some festive window stickers which I used to create a window display. This window display has actually won me third prize in a blogger competition aswell so even better! I won a fab notebook which is being popped in Chloe’s stocking! I really am getting to grips with creating these stockings on a shoestring.

It was easy to spend up in Poundland which surprised me as I wasn’t entirely sure what I would find. I half expected to come out with a years supply of toothpaste! Therefore this week it hasn’t only been John Terry shopping on a budget however I doubt the fact that I have will make the national news!

Disclosure:  I was gifted a voucher to spend in store to review these items.
