A fortnight ago we were honoured to be invitied to the press launch of Graco’s new fusio. We had a lovely day and Erin so enjoyed being in the spotlight! I was rather brave as I neogiated the london Underground with my Fusio.
It was slightly terrifying going up and down those massive escalators in the buggy – but I did it! As I came out of the tube station I was rather taken aback when this man approached me and asked if I was going to Graco event! I candidily said yes, and he quickly said ‘thought so with that buggy, cross over the road here, go down there and its just on your left’ Then he introduced himself as Wendy’s husband! Wendy is one of the other ambassadors from Inside the Wendy house, who I have gotton to know since we both became involved with Graco. That chance meeting saved me a few minutes of wandering around trying to get my bearings!
Once safely inside Erin came to life flirting shamelessly with the photograper as these pics show.
After an informal chat the presentations started and I was so impressed with both speakers. It seems that Graco designed the new Fusio and also the Symbio based on some research from Dr Suzanne Zeedyke who is a senior lecturer at Dundee University. Her research looked at how babies brains developed and why parent facing pushchairs are so important. It seems that I am rather unique to still have Erin parent facing as most have turned their children out from six months. The presentation explained how the brain develops and why interaction is so important. Being a sociologist myself it all made perfect sense. The fusio meets these needs and shows that Graco really is a company dedicated to designing products that make sense.
Then we heard from Emma Kenny who has featured on GMTV regularly. Her approach to parenting was very similar and she believes that happy, secure children are those that achieve. She too is an adovate of keeping your child close.
After these inspirational, motivational talks we had a chance to build our own interaction with our children. TiddlyPom gave us a quick demonstration in baby massage. I knew many of the techniques as I attended baby massage classes with Erin. However it was great to be reminded of the benefits of massage. Erin fully enjoyed this and I adore this pic the wonderful photographer got of us interacting together.
After the demo it was time for cake and chatting! Erin polished off a full chocolate brownie which I am sure was for us adults! However the bar staff thought this was really funny and Erin entertained and flirted the same way she had with the photographer!
I really enjoyed finally meeting some of the other ambassadors and the Graco team who have been so generous to me, giving Erin and me the opportunity to to try their products. Graco have also bought me my ticket for Cymbermummy which I cannot wait to attend.
The day was finished off with a quick trip around covent garden before doing the underground again.
Sharing is caring!
