How are the holidays going so far?

Two weeks into the holidays and I am chilled, partly due to my mini break and partly due to knowing I still have all of August off work. The sun is shining and so far the children are enjoying the change in routine and are entertaining themselves well.  Erin continues to go to nursery which keeps her occupied.  An advantage of having older children means that they have quite active social lives themselves and are happy out playing with their friends.

However we are always looking for things to do with them and things to do as a family and so far we have had BBQ’s a plenty and picnics in parks.  Dylan is off to watch the football this weekend and has a fab day planned going to have a tour at the Villa Ground.  All of this before we head off to Cornwall for our holiday.  Last night Lee took them all to Kingsholm as they had free tickets to watch Rubgy Sevens.  It was such a warm evening they enjoyed being out for a late night.

Getting away from home and heading to London is also in our plans.  London  also has plenty to offer with Lollibop coming up.  That was a great day out last summer and promises to be again, its the only festival designed primarily for children.  I am hoping to take the children to London this month and do some of the sights with them.  We have never done the London Eye and I think they would really enjoy that.  Thankfully we have family in London we can stay with and therefore it keeps the costs down.  It also means that have babysitters if we fancy doing something in the evening.  When checking what was upcoming at the English National Ballet I spotted that Die Fledermaus is on next month.  The plot sounds like something I would be keen to watch.

Finally I need to build in some time to do some school prep.  I should do it now but know I will probably leave it all to the last week!
