The kitchen is the heart of the home and I have been having a sort out. Just last week we decided to update some of the kitchen utensils and pieces. I realised that many of our kitchen things were wedding presents. That means that we have had them 15 years which is good going but it was time to update things. I find it hard to let go of wedding presents. Somehow I have the feeling that I should keep them forever. I am not as sentimental about other gifts but it seems wrong to decide that my wedding gifts have seen better days and box them up and donate them to the local charity shop.
Have you kept your wedding gifts? I realise that buying gifts is already very yester year with many receiving money for honeymoons instead now.
Once I had sorted out what had to go and I started looking for new kitchen essentials and the difference they have made is huge. I have gone with a white and duck egg blue colour scheme and adored the Queen Bee range from Linea. Linea is a brand I have really taken to both their homewear and their clothes. It is all available at House Of Fraser and I do love a good department store shop.
The children love a Costa and so I also bought some latte glasses as they can make milky coffees at home. I also needed a new kettle as ours had some limescale and already I can taste the difference in my cuppa!
Finally I also opted for some new glassware as we seemed to have no matching glasses left. We seem to smash a few because the children just drop them into my ceramic sink. The sink is very unforgiving!
The new pieces have really brightened up the kitchen ready for spring all we need now is sunshine!
