With the car boot packed up and four excited children including a tot, a tween and two teens we braved the M5 around Bristol as we headed to Butlin’s Minehead for a WWE weekend. In our role as ambassadors we are lucky enough to have two breaks with Butlin’s planned. When we started planning the first break I decided to go to Minehead as it is only a couple of hours away. It also coincided with the Butlins WWE weekend tour. This meant we could have a fun filled weekend, watch the WWE and come home on the Sunday afternoon and not miss any school.

Why Choose a Butlins WWE Weekend?
We also chose a theme weekend that we knew Dyl would love. We chose a WWE weekend! Wrestling is not my thing but I thought that it would be a new experience to see. Therefore it was a weekend of firsts, both Butlins and wrestling. This post is just going to focus on the wrestling and there will be a follow post on the whole Butlins experience.
The Skyline Pavilion is transformed for the WWE Butlins weekend and in its place sits an arena worthy of WWE fame. The pavilion hosts seating for 5000 and the ring takes pride of place complete with big screen where Mr McMahon can speak to the audience straight from America.

After unpacking and having dinner we wandered over to the Skyline to have a look around and Dylan was immediately in awe. The arena was so much more impressive than Dyl had imagined. He immediately got very excited and announced that he would not be able to sleep! He then spotted the merchandise that was on sale and decided to buy a T Shirt with his money. Tickets are allocated on arrival and we were able to see which block we would be sitting in and again I was really pleased with the Butlins wwe seating plan.
On the Saturday the ring and arena were cordoned off with curtains and the excitement built! The doors opened at 6pm with the show starting at 7pm. The entrance to the show was very well manned and there were several entrances depending on where you were seated. Once in the wwe Butlins arena we were thrilled with our seats as we realised we had a straight line view.
The show started and I was really impressed with the showmanship. The stars worked the crowd (which was huge, all seats that I could see were taken) and audience participation took place with cheering, stamping of feet and jeering at the baddie! The time passed quickly and I was amazed at how many fans of all ages were captivated. That was one thing that really stood out for me there were fans of all ages from young families to older people. There was also a number of people with various disabilities including wheelchair users who appeared to be well provided for in terms of access.

The show lasted over two and half hours with a short interval and the big names that Dylan wanted to see were there including Randy Orton and Dolph Ziggler. Watching the WWE show at Butlins Minehead gave a great experience and I imagine that we had a better view and atmosphere than is experienced in some of the huge arenas. Filming during the show is prohibited but I managed a little before the show started and also some great shots so do watch the vlog to get an idea of what we experienced!

Is it acceptable to admit that I am actually quite a bit jealous? I blimmin love the WWF (I can’t bring myself to say WWE!) and have since the days of Hulk Hogan. I’m amazed they were at Butlins – sounds pretty awesome!

I used to watch Big daddy as a kid and loved him! bt Dyl adored it!
