Reasons to be cheerful

This is so easy this week – which is wonderful as it means that I have had a pretty fantastic week, which I have. I have plenty of reasons to be cheerful! In fact just as challenged – I may not even limit myself to three reasons!

1. First and foremost – We got the secondary school we wanted for Chloe. The relief is massive, I didn’t fully realise just how pent up and anxious we all were about this. We had taken a risk not putting a local school but instead choosing an outstanding catholic school. We are not Catholics but practising Cof E so we had a letter of support from our priest but it still was touch and go. I do voluntary youth work through my church and also am a trustee of a charity so truely believe that we have been rewarded and blessed to get the school we wanted.

2. Erin is giving us the most beautiful little butterfly kisses now and it nearly reduces me to tears! She comes over to us leans in and puckers up! It is so sweet and I adore it. As they get bigger you forget these truely beautiful moments so I am glad to record it here.

3. A weekend away, sans husband and children. I am heading off to Brighton tomorrow with my best friend of 18yrs to stay with another friend of ours.

4. Dylan enjoyed his birthday and especially his party. It rained, the grass was too wet for football but we wrapped up went to the park instead and played on the climbing frame and swings. The boys loved it, then we headed back for pizza.

  4. I love the idea of ‘Reasons to be Cheerful’…off to think of three of my own. Congratulations on getting a place for your daughter at her first choice of school.

  5. I remember being so pleased when my daughter moved up to secondary school that we had chosen such a good place to live, that we didn’t need to worry about schooling, like so many really have to.
now she’s having problems at 15 not getting on the higher courses she needs to achieve a place at her chosen uni!! It never stops, having to be prepared to fight for the best for your child..
