Rococo Gardens will take you back to the elegance and sophistication of the early 1700s. Gardens were fashionable theatrical sets, providing a stunning backdrop to decadent garden parties. Rococo Garden is in the pretty village of Painswick, just a short journey out of Gloucester. It is well known for its stunning display of Snowdrops.
This week I was invited to come over to see the glorious snowdrops, and have some photos taken by Mouse About Town and enjoy a slice of cake afterward in the coffee shop.
Mouse About Town is a Cheltenham based photographer who does both location and studio shoots. Her prices are very reasonable and the photos are lovely and capture personality.
The weather was a crisp cold morning and I was surprised how busy the car park was as we arrived. I didn’t realise people travel so far to see these snowdrops when they are at their best. Despite is being on my doorstep Rococo Gardens is not somewhere I can remember going to before.
Once inside it really is a beautiful place. The snowdrops, of course, look amazing and it made me wonder how theirs are out and in abundance so soon.
I went to with my friend Holly and we enjoyed a leisurely stroll through the gardens. You can take dogs into Rococo Gardens also and could easily spend a good few hours walking. It is certainly a great place to walk off a Sunday lunch.

We also had some outside among the snowdrops. I whipped my coat off to show off my Sosander dress that I have recently bought.
After we had wondered we popped to the coffee shop to warm up with a hot drink and slice of homemade cake. The coffee shop was bustling and we opted for hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream. It was divine. There is also a gift shop selling plants and other handmade local pieces of art and so on.
If you are visiting Gloucester, Rococo Gardens is definately worth a visit, it is the only remaining garden from this brief period in history. Rococo Gardens can also be hired for weddings and other functions. It is open all year round offers amazing views of the countryside.
