Self Care Sunday: Invest in Your Own Wellbeing

How often do you prioritse you? Today we are sharing why you need to implement self care Sunday.

When was the last time you made yourself priority number one? For so many of us, other things top the list. This could be your family, children, work, and even your home and household jobs. It is so common to find that you are way down at the bottom of the priority list, and because of this, you end up running out of steam and feeling run down. If this resonates now is the time to change things and take action with self care Sunday!

Don’t beat yourself about it! It is common for us to priroritse everything else because it is just in our nature to do it. But the one thing to remember is that you can’t pour from an empty cup. A little bit of self-care can go a long way to filling ourselves back up with the energy, focus, and motivation to tackle whatever life throws at us. Sunday is the ideal time for that reboot and to help you set good intentions for the week ahead. So if you fancy making yourself priority one, even just for a few minutes, then here are some of the nice things you can do for yourself.

Enjoy an indulgent bath

A bath can sometimes feel like a necessity rather than something to relax in, especially if you are time-sensitive. So what not change things up a little and treat yourself. Create a home spa experience at home, enjoy a bath bomb, essential oils, light a few candles, and get your favourite beverage and book. Relax in the warm water and enjoy the silence and calm for a few moments. To be really indulgent take time out in day and have a bath. Bliss!

Head for a walk

There is nothing quite like fresh air and a bit of gentle exercise to make you feel better, so why not head out for a walk? While you can, pop in your headphones and list to an audible book, a podcast, or just some music. Whether it is ten minutes or an hour, this time just for you will give you that much-needed opportunity to reset and feel good.

Get creative on self care Sunday

When was the last time you got creative just for you? Taking a few minutes to relax and do something nice for yourself could involve something creative. Write, draw, paint, cook, bake, do whatever you love to do, and don’t feel guilty about it. This macrame rainbow craft is easy and relaxing to create.

Make some food you love

We can all be guilty of focusing meal times around what everyone else likes. Making food you know your children will eat or your partner will appreciate. Cooking something you love can be something nice to do for yourself. It could be a lunch date for one in the garden or introducing the whole family to your favourite dish.

Journal and embrace gratitude

Another thing you can do would be to journal. This is one of the best things you can do if you feel a little overwhelmed. Journaling how you feel, what goals you have, or even just some of the things you are grateful for can be such a huge release and help you to feel better. Sunday is the ideal time to set your intentions for the week. Write a list of the things you would like to achieve and a few goals you might have. However, each day, taking a few minutes to show some gratitude and journal your thoughts can be hugely beneficial. Try it and see for yourself.

Meditation

Meditation is a great way to reset yourself, and it’s the perfect excuse for quiet and calm. It allows you to focus on your breath and clear your mind. However, if it isn’t something you have done before, there are plenty of tutorials online or even guided meditation apps on your phone that can help you get started.

Read or watch something just for you

Finally, when was the last time you read or watched something just for you, or dare we say it, just for the fun of it? Life can get hectic, so why not take some time to sit and watch something you will love. Or if reading is more your thing, grab a book, a hot drink, and justrelax and get lost in the pages. Whether it is for a few minutes or longer, the decision to do something nice for you will put a massive smile on your face.

Which one are you going to try for your self care Sunday treat? Hopefully, this will have motivated you to do something nice for yourself this week.

Sharing is caring!
