Tortworth Court Spa Day Review for a Blissful Day Out

Blogging has bought me many lovely opportunities and a spa day is always a real treat! In Gloucestershire, we have some amazing spa’s and my plan is to visit and review them! Today I am sharing my experience of the Tortworth Court Spa Day which I recently visited.

Where is Tortworth Court Spa?

The Tortworth Court Spa is situated just north of Bristol and is easily accessible from the motorway, De Vere Tortworth Court is a historic hotel in stunning surroundings. It is a grade 2 listed building and the estate was the ancestral seat of the Ducie family for 350 years. Following a multi-million pound restoration, the manor house now combines 21st-century style with a wealth of original features and fittings.

The Leaf Spa is open to guests and members and has a fully equipped gym, sauna and swimming pool which are available daily along with 6 fully renovated treatment rooms. Louise and I spent the day there recently to enjoy the spa facilities.

Enjoying Tortworth Court Spa Day

We arrived nice and early to make full use of the spa facilities. We were welcomed into the spa and given a short tour to acquaint ourselves with the layout. We loved that there is a separate lounge area for spa guests which is beautifully presented with a range of hot drinks that you can help yourselves too. Lunch can also be taken in here if you are on a package.

We then slipped into our swimwear and headed into the pool area. There is a large pool and a jacuzzi available when enjoying a Tortworth Court Spa Day. Seating is limited as there is not much space around the pool but the lounge makes up for that in my opinion.

The sauna and steam room are not situated in the pool area, instead, they are up a flight of stairs near the changing room. This is down to the layout of the spa. The rooms were clean, and welcoming and the sauna is always my favourite part of a spa day!

It is a rather strange layout and it does feel a little strange to need to leave the pool area to gain access to the sauna and steam room.

I had a back massage booked as my spa treatment and it was pretty perfect. I love both massages and facials and always find it hard to choose between the two. However, I decided on a massage as I have been working hard at the gym and thought my back would appreciate the TLC!

Next I headed back into the lounge for more coffee before heading back to the pool. This lounge is a real plus point for me, it was very relaxing and quiet and it is great to be able to help yourself to the drinks. There is no additional cost for the drinks which is a huge plus point.

The Tortworth Court Spa is a lovely way to spend a few hours. It is a hotel spa and open to guests including children. We did have children in the pool at one point and of course, they splash about but again that is pretty standard in my experience when using a hotel spa facility.

After getting changed we headed to the restaurant for afternoon tea as we were having a meeting the tea was delightful and the scones were awesome. I don’t think any spa visit is complete without warm scones! This was an add on supplement and not included in the Tortworth Court spa day package cost, but was worth the extra.
