I last updated Chloe’s room when she was about 12 and now she is 15 she wants to decide how her room is. I get that totally, it is her space and as I don’t much venture in there except to put her clean clothes on the side for her to put away I hardly should decide the decor and furnishings. However I wistfully look at beautiful rooms on pinterest and imagine white furniture and furnishings that would be mu choice if I was starting from scratch.
Neither Chloe or Dylan still fully understand why when we moved here to our forever home that I gave the youngest child the second biggest room. Chloe thought it should go on age and as such expected the second sized room. However I gave that privilege to Erin as she has the most toys. Chloe and Dylans room are mirror images and I thought it would provoke less of a drama – I was wrong as it seems that giving Erin the second largest room was akin to giving her more love and more material goods as the older two still talk about it five years on!
In an attempt to repair the damage of giving Chloe a smaller room I am letting her loose with Yorkshire Linen and getting her to create a mood board of how she would update this tired room.
After browsing the website and spending only £75 Chloe selected the following products which she has put into a mood board. These duvets covers and sheets from Yorkshire Linen would give her two looks yet on the same colour scheme. This means that she wouldn’t need to change her lamp and curtains.
What do you think of Chloe’s choices? She selected the Nordic flannelette duvet cover in single along with tartan stripe red sheet. For her second set she decided on a range called Global escapes by Catherine Lansfield She also choose a luxurious double fitted sheet as a treat for mum and dad!

Isn’t it funny how children read so much into room size!! I love her Nordic flannelette duvet choice – very ‘clean’ and smart!
Fantastic choice! i love that she treated you too!
can’t wait to see the transformation. I’m secretly loving that Wilf is too small to care about how he wants his room to look so I can call all the shots..for the time being! x
Looks lovely, we now want to see the end results, please!xx
I love her choices, perfect for a teenage bedroom. When we moved to this house, my eldest daughter who had been sleeping in the box room for 21 years was given the largest bedroom in the house. In fact she has an entire floor to herself with her own bathroom. Good things come to those that wait 🙂
I love her choices, need to get Kian some new more grown up bedding
Love makeovers. We seriously need to do some in our house, since moving we’ve just not really got going yet
