After the telephone call that confirmed my mothers instinct I was told an urgent referral would be made to the consultant that would be operating on Erin’s hip. This evening I’m left questioning urgent. I’m not complaining (not yet anyway) but I feel in limbo. I spent the weekend scouring ebay for equipment that has been suggested to me. I actually got a fab bargain getting this doomoo seat for £30 instead of shelling out £100 for a new one.
I went nightie shopping in Marks and Spencer as she wont be able to wear PJ’s over the cast, grabbed tena pads needed for changing her as nappies will be too difficult. I went to work this morning ready to tell people that i’m going to be needing parental leave. School were fab, very supportive but now I’m left floundering like a fish out of water.
What does urgent mean? I have a feeling that my urgent is different to th NHS dictionary definition. I need to make plans and arrangements, being a teacher I can’t just walk out the door throwing the keys to someone else. I need to get timetables sorted and make plans. I need to ensure the other two children are in a position to understand what is happening and have arrangements in place for them.
My head is spinning but as yet I have no timescales to work on. My character means I am not good at being patient. I can’t sit back and wait as my husband tells me too. I want to be in overdrive getting sorted, getting prepared. I am really feeling the lack of control I have over the situation and it’s not a feeling I like. Here’s hoping the phone call from the consultant comes soon enough.

Your the same as me, prefer to be in the driving seat with both hands firmly on the wheel. Jack still hasn’theard from Southampton neuro consultant and Chichester peads keep moving his appointment – shouldn’t complain as the care he recieved after the accident was amazing. Give Erin a big kiss from me xxx
