Do you write notes to your child? Erin is always drawing us pictures or writing us little notes. She is so affectionate and it is one of the many things I adore about her personality. At times it makes me feel guilty as she would love those pretty packed lunches that are on a theme with little notes hidden in her sandwiches.
I will often go into my bedroom and see handwritten notes on my bed or stuck into my wardrobe. Our fridge is covered in drawings where she declares her undying love to me. I am not alone in receiving these and often discover she has written similar letters to her friends and teachers at school. I have been keeping many of these tokens as a reminder of this stage in her life. Her teachers often show me the notes she has given them. Just yesterday I was told how she had given her teacher a note saying that she was a really good teacher, kind to children and understands them! Ha hah
It is not just letter writing that demonstrates her affectionate nature. She also still cuddles up. I was disgusted to see that the Beckhams were once again criticised for posting a photo of them kissing their daughter on the lips. I hadn’t ever thought about it before and it reminded me that I recently posted a similar photo on instagram.
Your child will not kiss you if they don’t want to and there is nothing wrong with a kiss on the lips at that age. My 17 and 13 year old no longer kiss me like that and obviously that is fine too. But lets stop moaning about children showing their parents affection. I parent my children and I am so proud of the young adults they are turning into.
Erin enjoys crafting and making personalised gifts too. Therefore when I was approached by Hallmark at Tesco to take a look at their range for Fathers Day I knew it would be Erin’s type of things. Hallmark are celebrating Father’s Day in a big way this year! They know how difficult it can be to find the perfect gift to show Dad that you care, and therefore they have pulled out the stops to help. Hallmark believe that Father’s Day is the day to get creative, get the kids involved in creating thoughtful and personal gifts for their loved one.

The cards are available in Tesco and will be sure to put a smile on dads face on June 19th. Erin has already picked out her favourite and she will be keeping it hidden in her room until she is ready to run into her dad in a few weeks time.
