Life has its share of ups and downs, and when the downs hit you, keeping yourself afloat can seem tough. Whether you’re going through a rough patch in life or are just aiming to make things smoother and better for you, here’s some help.
Read on to discover 6 effective ways to make your life a lot easier.

Create Boundaries
Probably the most valuable advice anyone could offer you is this- create boundaries and write your own life rules. Saying ‘yes’ to anything and everything is going to leave you emotionally and physically burned out, not to mention massively disappointed. Learn to say no to things you don’t want to do. This can be really hard if you are a people pleaser like me. However, it is important that we learn to say no and mean it otherwise we cannot give the best of ourselves to what is really important.
Focus On the Important Stuff
Life can be hectic and downright overwhelming, and when there’s too much happening for you to be able to make sense of and process, take a moment to pause and concentrate on what’s really important to you. Even when it comes to making major (or minor) life decisions, ask yourself if what you’re doing will truly bring you happiness and if it is truly important to you. One way I do this is by journaling or writing down my priorities. I find that many people don’t write much anymore, instead they use technology to record their thoughts. Yet for me there is nothing better than taking pen to paper still. I love having a new notepad in which I can plan and work things out. I like to write lists, set goals and go back and look at them later. Creating a year plan can help give clarity to your vision and encourage you to set smart targets which can motivate you, once written pop the notes in a bestbuyenvelope ready to look back at later.
Practise Self Care
If there’s any way to hack yourself into a better life in general, it is this! By practising self care, you can instantly feel better and perform better in your life. It can mean different things for different people- for some, it may be sleeping an hour early, for some, relaxing in the bath for a few extra minutes, and for some it can be taking a road trip alone.
Whatever it is for you, find it and practise it often. Self care keeps you grounded and centered, and helps you rediscover clarity and peace in your life.
Get Organised
You’ll be surprised at how liberating and blissful decluttering can be. Bringing some organisation into your life and routine isn’t just empowering, but it allows you to look at things from a fresh perspective and makes you feel more in control. Also, when you have less clutter and stuff to clean, it leaves you with a lot of free time and energy to do something productive.
Practice Minimalism
Living in a consumerist world may tempt you to buy everything, but practising minimalism can set you free. It isn’t just another trend making rounds- several studies have found how being minimalist can bring more peace and happiness into your everyday life.
Be Grateful
Last, but definitely not the least, make gratitude a part of your everyday life. Even if things are tough at the moment and you aren’t feeling great, remind yourself of the little blessings in your life, acknowledge them and bring gratitude into your heart every single day, particularly as you begin your day. For many, the law of attraction is an approach to success and for me, I know that when I am in a good place and I am being thankfully I bring more positivity and wealth into my life. Good things come to those who are ready for it and those seeking out opportunities and being thankful for what they have.
Sharing is caring!
