Spring is on its way and this makes my heart sing! I’m not a winter girl much more preferring a little bit of heat and wearing thinner layers! Cotton Traders recently got in touch asking if I’d like to pick a new spring outfit and of course, I couldn’t resist!
I previously collaborated with Cotton Traders at Christmas when my son picked a new jacket and 1/4 zip hoody which he wears to work all the time! So I was glad that it was my turn to choose an outfit.
Before Christmas I hadn’t really shopped with Cotton Traders as I didn’t think I was their target market and that the clothes wouldn’t be my style – how wrong was I on all accounts! Dylan’s clothes have washed really well and still look as good as new.
The new TV advert is showing just how versatile and colourful their new collections are and it got me thinking about my own spring style. I like layering in this transition season as the weather seems to change quite quickly. You can be out on a dog walk and start off a little chilly but the minute the sun puts in an appearance you warm up.
I do like a bit of colour so I picked out the Viscose Linen stripe short sleeved top I always think that you can’t go far wrong with a stripe! I paired the top with a really fab cargo jacket, it’s a button-through style with full-length sleeves and button-fastening cuffs, an inner drawcord to the waist for a flattering and feminine fit, plus front pockets with pretty pleats, proving that the difference lies in all those little details.
The jacket is a joy and I now want it in the other available colours too! This is going to be a fab addition to my spring wardrobe.
Next, we need to show some appreciation for the wide-legged Penny jeans. Everyone knows how hard it can be to find a great pair of well-fitting jeans but these are just that. I have been looking for some wide-legged jeans for a while and as I am 5’3 I find many drown me. These however are honestly such a great fit, they are nice a wide but the length is spot on for me too. The stretchy cotton-rich denim and on-trend shape of these new favourites come together to make your legs look longer and keep your style on point.
I wanted a change from skinny jeans and I’m so glad that I tried these and I know that I am going to be wearing them all spring!
