This weekend has seen us updating the outside of the house. The house is rendered and now that it has reached the grand age of 12 it was starting to look a little weathered in places. Having a cream house was not something I really considered before buying it but it does need some looking after. Luckily our neighbours are not rendered because we don’t have top match to the same shade as them. I still found it hard getting the same colour for the refresh and I think it is a little whiter than we had before. The fresh coats have made a big difference and as it was being done I couldn’t believe the difference.
This has made me want to whitewash other areas of the home and having white furniture in the bedroom has long been on my wishlist although Lee is not convinced. He thinks the children will make white furniture grubby but I keep reminding him they are older now! I have created this wishlist image of what I would to the teens room if I get my way! This is all on a budget too!
The white bedframe and mattress would be the central focal point but would then be accompanied with these lovely pieces.
1. Wall art / stickers are a cheap and easy way to update a bedroom. There are so many available from inspirational quotes to nature images. I think waking up to an inspirational quote is a great start to the day.
2. Rugs. If you cannot afford to recarpet a rug can hide a multitude of sins and add a pop of colour.
3. Honeycomb paper balls for hanging decorations. Again these are cheap and can be replaced and changed colour easily. Now is the time to buy these as I saw some reduced in Matalan last week in the wedding decorations section. They were a bargain.
4. Bunting – again nice and easy and these I have used in the image are reduced from £10 to £4 in the GLTC online shop.
